Recorded back in 1994, featuring Sally Thompson on vocals, this song is perhaps the most precious for me out of all the songs I've written.
It practically wrote itself, as if channeled from that mysterious realm just beyond our reach, of which we are sometimes graced with glimpse.
It is a remembering of a moment I'll never forget; when, as a young man years before becoming a father, I first experienced the unique and almost heartbreaking love that an adult can feel for a child. The adult of experience soothingly singing to the child of innocence; knowing that this age of wonder is just but a season.
Sally's sublime vocal rendition captures the bittersweet essence of the song, as does the haunting string/wind arrangement performed by Greg Geeves.
